Eddie Cohn Music

Biography

For the last three years, Eddie Cohn has been knee deep in writing, recording and breathing his new album entitled “If I’m Happy It Ends.” Originally from Cleveland, OH, Cohn moved out to Los Angeles about ten years ago to pursue a career in music. He spent years writing and recording demos, writing songs for independent films and even received a development deal at Columbia Records. However it hasn't been until this new record where Cohn feels like he is truly being heard for the first time. As you listen to Cohn’s lyrics, you can hear that his uncle, singer/songwriter Marc Cohn, has always been a dynamic influence on his songwriting. And as you listen to the music combined with Cohn’s whispering and soaring voice, you can also hear traces of his other influences including Radiohead, Elliot Smith, Aqualung, Pearl Jam and Jeff Buckley.

David Kerschenbaum, producer for Tracy Chapman and Tori Amos, calls the record “a must hear” and calls AWAY FROM HERE “the best track he has heard in years.” Nightflying Magazine from Seattle, WA calls Cohn’s record “interesting and unusual with obvious influences from Ryan Adams and NIN.” And lastly, Tone and Groove Magazine calls the record “very pretty” and PASSED OUT AT THE DOOR “a true gem.” The truth is, Cohn’s record is so hard to characterize because one minute it is straight ahead rock and roll while the next minute it is dark, deep and so incredibly melancholy. One can’t deny that Cohn clearly knows how to make an impact through words, melody and raw emotion.

Cohn has just joined forces with Tinderbox Music to begin a radio campaign that should last into the spring where he is then expected to tour. The record is currently being played on more than fifty college radio stations across the country with heavy rotation coming from KMSU, RADIO XY, KSOC, KUNI, WIIT. It’s just a matter of time before the world finds out more about Eddie Cohn and his powerful music. Music that is guaranteed to leave a mark on your soul and stay with you long after you listen.
